Hmmm, looking at your nick, I take it your year of birth is 1974? If so, we're the same age mate.

Re: 2010 model changes
I have a week 21/22 car coming in next fortnight.
Dealer told me my car is built and now on route (UK Spec) but could not confirm actual week or 09/10 build spec!
Guess I'll know for sure in another couple of weeks. I will confirm here what week and what spec I got.

Re: 2010 model changes
My guess is that it will be an 09 spec. I was down for week 22 build (which seems to be break point between 09 and 10) but was put back to week 26 - along with quite a lot of other people.
I imagine that there is some re-tooling or reorganisation required on the production line for the change to 10 spec and that they have built that in to the 4 week additional lead in I have been quoted.

Re: 2010 model changes
H1OLA's picture doesn't look quite right - is that a MK6 Golf interior? The Radio definitely isn't the 510 head unit.

Re: 2010 model changes
Don't like the MK6 style dual zone console - it looks cheaper than current one without the digital left/right temp readings. I thought the dualzone was staying as is, apart from the lcd backlight changing to white?
Not a fan of the newer steering wheel either - the centre of the wheel does not look like it belongs to the rim and spokes, like a hybrid of 2 completely different steering wheels. Saw it in a MK6 GTI 10 days ago and didn't like. I'd like to see the chrome parts of the 2 side spokes (with the buttons on) on a current steering wheel though.
Sorry to be unpopular on this thread. The speedo dials are a minor improvement though.

Re: 2010 model changes
3 days after production week has ended - now that is a quick delivery
I hope mine, which has also gone for production week 22, won't take more than 3 weeks
Btw: are all roccos made within one week time? I mean if you have i.e. week 20 given is it finished the same week?

Re: 2010 model changes
The new steering wheel looks much better and modern on the pics but I test-drove a Golf MKVI (not a sports one, not a leather one, not a multifunctional one) and I was total crap. I hope the GTI wheel has a more exclusive feel.
One difference I notice is while the previous Scirocco wheel was perforated on the sides where you would hold it and had smooth leather elsewhere, the new 2010 wheel is the opposite - smooth at sides and perforated elsewhere. Do you guys have any observations about this perforation? Doesn't it make more sense to be perforated where you would hold the wheel - grip, ventilation, etc?
Speed dials and MFD look a lot better than the old one.

Re: 2010 model changes
That car doesn't have the MK6 Climate control unit!
08/11 - 12/13 2.0 TSI R DSG, Black / Black Vienna
01/09 - 08/11 2.0 TSI GT DSG, Black / Truffle Vienna
Black is the new Black....

Re: 2010 model changes
SO........
Are 2010 spec cars with dual zone A/C coming with the current style controls or the Golf style controls....??
Or is it the case of waiting for someone in the UK to actually get a 2010 car to find out?? Our VW dealer is clueless on these 2010 changes......
Thanks
Ken
