DDC sport comfort normal button flashing
Hi all,
Wondering if any of you have had this problem before? The drive is exactly the same as before and when you press the button it still changes mode as it comes up on the MFD but as of today it flashes all the time.
My new commute has some pretty hellish pot holes so worried in case some sensor has gotten damaged-maybe just disconnected. No MIL on.
Thanks in advance.

Re: DDC sport comfort normal button flashing
Flashing DDC is likely a shot damper ... How old is the car? Check the rear dampers.
VW Scirocco GT 170 in shadow blue metallic with vienna leather, cruise control, parking radar, nav, bluetooth and dynaudio sound system. Remapped and shortshift fitted.

More than likely a dodgy connection at one of the dampers.

Aw man, I hope it's a conn cation issue. Car will be 6 years old in June. I replaced the front n/s damper 18 months ago n always wondered when one of the others would give up. I remember the last one costing £293 plus the labour to change. The car is due into the garage in the morning anyway to get dried out and a water leak sorted so will get them to tell me.
All these things comin at once!

Fingers crossed its a connection problem, but if the shocker is 6 years old I would think it needs replacing. [emoji17]

Have you VCDS to get it scanned? To pin point the problem?

My light was flashing last year (mine's about the same age as yours) and when it went in they told me they updated the software and now it's fine.

Check the sensors connecting rods that actuate when riding.
I've had exactly the same problem in mine and one of them was broken. It's common on lowered cars and/or putholes on the road.
I went to buy a new one but, at the cost, decided to do some repair and found an aluminum round tube, more or less the same inner diameter than the outer diameter of the broken rod and made an upgrade on the OEM part.
Sorry, just a pic from the internet, but it's a very straight forward repair and also a simple one.
Hope it helped.

Re: DDC sport comfort normal button flashing
After it being in the garage for a water leak they communicated to me that it was indeed a burst damper, near side front again- which is the one I had replaced 18 months ago. So after phoning the VW dealer where the work was done they said they would check it and replace it for free as there is a two year warranty on genuine parts. So fingers crossed they honour it and I don't have to pay £170 for the new damper.

Yep. I confirm. I had the exact same problem. The button started flashing lately more often than usual and I decided to have a look under the car to see if this could be the problem. And indeed it was. You can see in the pictures that one of the sensors were cracked for some reason and over time the water droplets and humidity entered the the case and the rotor started to rust. And after a while it became completely stuck. Hence the broken green plastic. But the problem wasn't in the green plastic, it was in the rusted / oxidized chip. The photos speaks for themselves.
I changed it and never had the problem again.
Big up for the post .
PS: I still don't get what does the headlight level sensor have anything to do with the electronic dampers? Why if one is broken the other will get the error? Can anyone explain this to us? Thanks

Re: DDC sport comfort normal button flashing
The level sensors are used for Xenon equipped cars for the headlight auto-levelling function, but are also as an input to the DCC system.
If you click on the link below, you can download a document that explains the operation of the DCC system.
