It's different from the RNS510 ones i've been looking at with retrofitting in mind. Its missing "Map" and "Tone" buttons for a start? Is this a different version, and if so how different?
The RNS310 and RNS315 both look the same from the front and have a cd drive, not dvd.
The RNS310 uses the cd drive to read the maps disc for navigation. If you don't want to navigate then you can use it to play music. No DAB radio and no Bluetooth built in.
The RNS315 stores the maps on internal flash memory so the cd drive is always available for music. Also these might have DAB radio and / or Bluetooth built in.
Sweet.
Next question. A car I'm looking at has an RNS315 in I presume (looks like the above but has Bluetooth and DAB).
However... It's a SEAT version of the head unit, apparently it comes up with a SEAT logo when you boot the system up for a couple of seconds. Is this something that can be fixed/coded/updated out?

For Rns510 you can purchase a CD which will replace the boot logo with whatever you like, I assume you can probably do the same for this, although from my understanding the system is a little more limited
Unfortunately the only way to remove the SEAT branding of the RNS315 is to replace the front end (including the screen pcb and fascia) with one from a VW unit. No software tweaks possible to do this, unlike the RNS510.
