Re: Ash's Candy Thread
Thanks Green ,
So I use a citrus spray to start to loosen everything
I use either angel wax cleanliness or G Technique W5 I find them both good, this literally gets sprayed everywhere.
Then I snowfoam with Angelwax Fastfoam.
Leave around 5 Mins and then start to jet wash off, and I find it really successful always removes a good 50% of dirt

My opinion it doesn't look right.
Would look better just the vw badge .

It does look plain.
But looks better than those audi badges.
I think either stick with the oem badges or lose them and just have vw badge. Personally anyway.

Re: Ash's Candy Thread
Evening all, haha new this would happen , it's one of those things as previously mentioned on here it all started with the new black vw badges , which meant the 2.0 TSI had to either go or change , I made it black but it just didn't look right in black the fonts to small just didn't like it, then there's the TSI which the red SI is outlined in silver which still didn't look right so it went , and yes with nothing it's just abit plain , the Audi badge is just a trial thing as I like the font so far out of plain black OEM or the Audis I prefer these , so if you have black badges and don't wanna get rid of your other badges what options are there ?

Really nice thread dude. I'm on the side of de-badge but do what makes you happy it's your car after all.

Re: Ash's Candy Thread
I think if you like the Audi font keep it. Not everyone is going to like it, it's your car and now its unique. I have mudflaps on my car and I know people don't like them but I do, so they are staying on

On my car I have left the Scirocco on it and only taken off the 2.0 TDI, maybe that will make it a bit less plain ?

Re: Ash's Candy Thread
Thanks guys , I'm not 100% sold on it myself yet just prefer it to the other options really didn't like the standard 2.0 in black , I totally agree on doing what you think looks good , question is though as previously posted , if you have black vw badges and want to keep the scirocco or 2.0 badge etc but don't want chrome or a complete de badge what other options are there ?
Re: Ash's Candy Thread
Great thread. You could try spraying your original tsi badge black and fitting it. This is something I was considering doing

Re: Ash's Candy Thread
what pads and polishes did you use when polishing the car mate?
from previous experience on other customers cars i know vw have a rather hard paint so may take couple passes with a cutting compound and heavy cutting pad if not tried that already

Re: Ash's Candy Thread
Hiya Lloyd
So after that first sort of 50/50 I managed to remove some more , just took a little bit of experimenting,
Yes the be paint does seem to be a tad more challenging, so I'm using , chemical guys V36 & V38 on a DAS 6 DA
With a Hex Logic pads , yellow , orange and green , to start with I was using 36 on the Orange then with 38 on the green to finish , then when I wanted more cut I was a little worried to drop to a yellow pad with 34 so just uped the pad to the yellow and put the 36 on that for the bit extra cut then dropped down to orange 36 and then 38 green
Took a few passes there is still the odd pin headed indentation or a slightly deeper scratch , my aim was to remove swirls etc I'm happy with the results as iv managed to remove a lot didn't want to go any heavier at the moment without measuring the paint, but I wanted to be happy with the bonnet before I started to the rest of the car , so just the rest todo now:)

Re: Ash's Candy Thread
can't fault the v range of polishes and hex logic pads yer you've done it right mate always good to have a test spot etc which you've chosen to be the bonnet
yellow is quite a firm cutting pad but i find it works really well on hard paint types and then using a cutting polish more than compound to see how that goes and then if that don't cut it use the cutting compound
i really like there scratch and will removal polish that it a real good one step polish i find also and then can finish off with a final polish
looking forward to seeing the results when you've finished the whole car
