Hi All,
In the process of buying my first Rocco and i am looking at a 2.0 TSI GT 09 reg. Ive been doing some searching (great forum) the last couple of days and cant find a definitive answer. The car in question is a GT but it has a R badge on the rear drivers side of the boot. There are no other R badges on the car exterior or on interior trim or seats. The salesman said it was the R- Line or Design but I believe these came out in 2012? The car dealer have it advertised as just a GT
Q Has previous owner just stuck an R badge on? are there any other clues?
Thanks in advance
Amiee

It would have no black plastic strips on the side if it were an R or R line, and different front and rear bumpers to a standard scirocco, there's probably other things I can't think of right now

Re: Newbie Question R badge on GT 2.0 TSI
It will just be an "R" badge stuck on by a previous owner.
Also, the "R-Line" badge is different to the "R" badge.
As you said the R-Line wasn't around in 2009 and if it was an R, you would know and believe me the garage would be selling it as an R as it's value would be around 50% higher than a 2.0 TSI GT

Thanks both for your quick replies, as I thought then, it does have black strips on the side and the usual GT bumpers, and ha no it's definitely not an R.
The badge will be coming off straight away with the rear wiper!
