Dipped Beam Warning

Post by stevecheeseburger »

Hi all

A couple of weeks back I got the warning on my dash saying the left dipped beam was out. I didn't drive it for a couple of days, and when next I started it up the light was back on and warning gone. So it wasn't the bulb. Wondered if anyone else knows of common sensor faults, or suggest what else might be happening.

I've taken a look at a few threads but most appear to replace the bulb. Mine is a little different as the bulb started working again.

Cheers

It's to do with the wiring in the headlight, does the bulb work again if to fiddle with the wires and bulb holder?
If so either needs a new bulb holder or a whole new headlight

I had the same issue, something had worked loose - not really sure. I had the bulb replaced initially but it came back and was intermittent. My dealer fiddled around for a few minutes somewhere near the light and it has been fine ever since. Not a great technical description!

I had the same thing for a while, drivers side would work most of the time until it gradually got worse and stopped altogether. Turned out to be the bulb holder, got one from dealers for about 8 quid, been fine since.
