Like it! congrats bud!
Now all you need to do is write up a highly descriptive guide so that us mere mortals can copy you! :D
I look forward to it and to indeed fitting it to my own rocco (when it eventually gets here :shake: )

Thanks dchuraman. Details of where you ordered the LEDs from and what exactly you ordered would be great for in the How To Guide also.

I am very happy with the result.... !!!!

I am also happy because I was the one who risked his car  and disassembled the clima control unit.... :eyepop:
I want to ask VW if it is possible to order the RED PLCC-2 leds Scirocco already has....
Take my DYI and pictures from here and combine it to make a full guide....

You will get told no.

If you are really that anal and bothered youll need to buy another unit to strip the led's out of. . . . .

vw wont supply you the leds to mod your own unit, Andy-GTI is right, the only way to get the same leds easily is to strip them from another unit. Anyway, i think i got it pretty spot on with the red colour, the only thing possibly is they are still a llittle bright for some people and im working on that as we speak. The guide iwll be up soon and will have details of exactly which leds you need to order.

Yes... we need leds that match the density of the original red colour.... What kind of options did you have when you bought your leds?

Without going out to my car and checking doesn't the brighness of these screens get adjusted with the rest of the interior illumination using the thumbwheel near the headlight switch? Would be interested to see how they look at the extremes of adjustment.

yes they do, ill try get a picture at some point, but like i said i reckon the red is still a little bright and am working on that. id like to get them to the level that they look like when the brightness is adjusted down on the dial. Then it will be absolutely perfect

There are many different mcd ratings to go for, 280 450 or 650.... Which one did you choose? maybe you should try the 280 version

While we wait for the guide - any chance of the part number of bulbs that you ordered and where you got them from?

Thanks!
