poor performance at low revs intermittant, hesitant intermittant, stalling now and then! rough ride unless I put my foot down then smooth as a baby, I believe the EGR is at fault so a mechanic says, is it worth trying to clean it ?
firstly with wynns EGR cleaner, is it any good and most importantly is it safe to use, I hear short bursts no more than a second into the airtake is the way to go with most diesel engines will the scirocco tdi bluemotion tech like it ? or am I just pumping a load of loose crap into the engine and potentially causing problems?
failing the above I want to try removing the EGR and giving it a deep clean, how easy / hard is this to remove ? I believe its at the back of the engine, a mechanic said the engine needed to come out and wanted to charge 1000 pounds plus to replace EGR, told him id try other options first, I've not tried to locate EGR as yet but think Ive seen it before not too sure, does anyone have any images?
appreciate any advice anyone may have, thanks again, chris
is wynns EGR cleaner worth a try?

Re: is wynns EGR cleaner worth a try?
Had issues in the past with a GT Tdi Golf that would go into limpmode
My indy said its tight parameters that trigger it & 9/10 this Forte stuff will do the trick
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
sure enough after running it through over a full tank even if i tried i couldn't get it to limpmode
Now i would advise slipping it in every 2/3000 miles on Tds

I wouldnt do it, its better to take out the egr and clean it seperately. Otherwise all the carbon and shit will go through the engine and then build up in the dpf. Another option is to disable the egr valve by software.

is it easy enough to take egr out though heard its at the back off engine and requires engine removal, thought was a bit strange like as ook one out my astra easy peasy, any ideas where it is, suppose I should go and have a good look.
to the other guy that forte stuff looks good also i am gonna add that too once ive cleaned the egr

used the wynns egr cleaner, well it all went well no banging In the engine as some people have said, this I assume is as long as you do short bursts less than 1 second, car seems to run a liitle smoother now and also pulls better in low gears it maybe my imagination but worth the 8 quid I paid for it, plus it sounds quieter, like all the parts have been lubricated. so gets a 10 from len, also no engine management light at all.

Sure my R doesn't have an EGR. Are you in the right section?
