Audi TT short shifter

Post by AlanH »

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if the Audi TT short shifter will fit the 1.4TSi 160 gearbox?

It looks similar, but I can't tell nor see any info on here as to whether it actually fits.

TIA
Alan

Yees it would.
Better off buying a proper short shift.
I have an Ebay quickshift with modded mounting bolts, a Mk1 Leon Cupra R side to side unit and 42dd bushes throughout and it's ace.

I've a brand new set of 42DD bushes in my garage if anyone wants them for beer tokens :)

I've just bought an S3 shifter for mine from germany for £24.
VW Scirocco GT 170 in shadow blue metallic with vienna leather, cruise control, parking radar, nav, bluetooth and dynaudio sound system. Remapped and shortshift fitted.

Thanks both for the replies. I know that aftermarket ones are infinitely adjustable etc, but I can't justify the price to myself. Whereas £30 from the stealers is a bit more palatable.
As already said, thanks for the replies and advice.

Ebay quickshifter is 35 quid :)

And alot shorter.
Up to you ultimately.
My mate has an S3 and to be honest I didn't notice a difference between that and mine stock.

I've got the S3 shifter on mine, its not that much shorter in reality. Maybe 10-15% less throw, it feels better than stock none the less. I'll probably get the Cupra R side to side unit at some point as well. If you want to feel a lot shorter shifts then after market would be better.

Are these ebay ones any good?

I'm always a bit dubious....

No I recommended it because it's terrible :eyepop:

The stock mounting isn't the best. You just need a washer or a slightly larger headed bolt to secure it.
Combine with the LCR Mk1 side to side one which is metal, the Scirocco one is plastic and terrible, then it's a lot better. With the 42dd bushes it's nicer still.

The R is in for springs and an S3 shifter today but turns out the face-lift has the short shifter as standard. Same part no.
