Hi Guys,
Need some help buying a scirocco, with all this thing in the news is really confusing me at the min. Went to view a scirocco on Wednesday and absolutely loved it, heres a link to it:

Are these one of the engines that are effected by the scandal? Also when I was buying a scirocco what swayed me was the resale value and how well they hold value. Will this still be the case now everything that happened?
And also is this a fair price for the vehicle?
Cheers in advance guys!

Re: Help buying a scriocco
Price seams reasonable as long as it is in good nick but that was before the scandal. I think it probably is one of the ones that will be getting the recall so don't know how it will be affected. Don't think VW have announced yet what needs to be done and if it will have any affect on the cars performance etc. Personally I would wait a few weeks until more details have emerged from VW but it certainly is a bad time for anyone trying to sell a 2010 to 2015 diesel scirocco.
Mate on Facebook scirocco group has a 2010 2.0 tdi 140 and he has been told by VW he is one of the cars affected
If you do less than 15k per year have you considered petrol?

Hmm yeah, the only thing is my MOT runs out on my current car on tuesday so was hoping to get a new car before then. Do you think it will have any major effects on performance?
Do you have the link to the facebook, may be worth messaging the guy to find out what he's been told.
Also my mate used to work at VW said the diesel engines are a lot more solid than petrol and wouldn't recommend getting a petrol.

This is his latest comment about it, not been told yet what they need to do or what affect it will have:
Couldn't tell ya mate, fella just put my reg in and told me mine was one of the ones effected and the company will contact me soon before the end of the month hopefully.
