APR intake claims?
So my rocco is off to get remapped by APR today, stage 1. Iv'e been looking on their site, and they reckon if I go stage 1 ill get about 255bhp, but if I fit their intake I can get 269bhp? Does this seem like quite a bit step up of power from just an intake? and if so, would the gains be the same if I were to get VWR intake?

Doubt it!
Stage 2 increase on that chart hardly looks worth the money compared to stage 1. I doubt the 222 hp reading on a stock engine is accurate either.

It does seem pretty high.
Just not sure if I should bother getting an intake yet, if its going to give me ~10HP then I guess its worth it but don't know if it would!

The intake will make that nice induction noise (if you like that sort of thing) and make your engine breath better (although controversial).
Some people on here claim that you spend a lot of money for something that may sound cool but gives you practically no BHP gain and poorer filtration.
Not sure if that's entirely true but I'm sure it will open a debate!

I think if you look more into it those figures are peak BHP numbers when your booting it some.
APR stage 1 with decent CAI is around a more realistic 260 - 265 BHP.
I have an ITG Maxogen (now effectively VWR) and it is a very good piece of kit and does add a little with the Map and also sounds great even with OEM exhaust.
Irvysan can vouch for this it nearly sucked him into the engine at Stirling !

Ah great, thanks for the info.
Just not sure if I should wait and get a downpipe
