All in all I think it was pretty much as we was expecting.

I do like it, but it depends how its priced that will make or break this car.

Options I can see so far are,

19" wheels, which I think are the ones pictured
Leather (Shame its not standard)
RCD510 + Nav options, Dynaudio and phone etc
DCC (again shame its not standard)

Some good info here too.

http://www.netcarshow.com/volkswagen/20 ... o_r/02.htm

Phoned local dealers today, one (and the one we got our ED30 off) knew about it and told me they'd keep me informed. The other said "a Scirocco what?"

Adaptive suspension should be standard in the UK.

If it's 25k and you then add leather and DSG that's 28k. Sounds a bit of a thick price.

Ahh didn't see we get ACC and RCD510 on GT models, so I guess this should be standard on the R?

I just hope the cloth looks good, as I don't want to spend £1500 on leather! I could get a new 3+2 Seater for less than that down DFS :D

Were are the front indicators now?
Do the DRLs have an alternate colour for that?

You read my mind, also where are the foglights? I would be suprised if the car had no forward facing fogs.

When do we reckon VW will fit the headlamps from the Studie R? Is this another hint that there could be a hotter Scirocco on the way which would utilise these headlamps? They could just be an 11My update.

Why do you need front fogs, if you have Xennons anyway?

I'm suprised at the cloth, it looks quite good actually. Lets hope it makes it to the UK spec cars.

Where did the pics from above come from?

I'd like to see what the cloth seats look like better, and the rears too!

More pics here....... http://www.pictureupload.de/Scirocco%20 ... 32647.html

I am not sure how Xenon light disperses / reflects off fog droplets, so you maybe right with Xenons you probably don't need foglights.

Halogen light from standard headlights is dispersed / reflected off fog / snow droplets quite badly, have you ever tried your main beam in the Fog (Blinding)

Fog lights are traditionally a different colour temp / wavelength to headlights and positioned lower with a more concentrated letterbox type light pattern to improve low level illumination of the road and pavements.

There is no legal requirement for fog lights otherwise all cars would have them as standard, but what about forward facing indicators at the front of the car? Have VW got round the rules and gone with just the indicators on the wing mirrors or are they incorporated somewhere else?

The Xenons headlamps use the inner pair of lights as DRL, they are not Xenon though which is a shame colourwise. When the dusk sensor kicks in they cut out and the Xenons and side lights small lights in bumper are illuminated at the same time which IMO looks good. Mine is not a 2010 vehicle but all the photos suggest that they are the same units. (Apart from the studie R headlights)
