Was on red so had to drive economically.
Managed to get 46+ mpg on the way to the petrol station.
Was the most boring drive ever though lol.
Got 32 mpg on the way back :clap:

Just out of interest what is the benefit of increasing the idle rpm? Cheers.

I heard people who had some trouble with low idle rpm's so i was looking for a way to change the idle in vcds. I didn't read anything about it on the newer CR and TSI engines but it is possible.
Probably gonna change it back because it was running already very smooth on 780 rpm.
It was just a try out;) You can find a how to in topic:

Played around with Vagcom last night. Got the PRL's turned off, beep on lock/ unlock, needle sweep and re-coded the rear number plate lights to accept LED's.. Couldn't get the big speedo on the MDF to work though.. -_-

Hi mate, deactivate alt speed display in the mfd and big speedo should appear :)

I'm just playing vag com for the first time. Doesn't look like I can do the needle sweep on my 59 plate with white mfd.
When you do the big Speedo mod does it change your odo & trip to kms instead or does it stay as miles please?

Hi Shaun,

Have a look at this post : http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 41#p169941" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yes initially it does change it to kmh but you just need to change the units via the MFD

Cheers

This info may help : http://www.my-gti.com/204/volkswagen-go ... nd-sunroof" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ignore the coding but read the text, AFAIK the requirements are exactly the same for the ROC's . I didn't bother to enable it as I'm unlikely to leave the windows down when I'm locking the car.

Thanks man, couple of reasons why then, didn't wait two minutes as it was already raining & my interior sensors were on.
Seems I've flattened the car enough to just not start, or at least I'm hoping it's that & not my messing with vagcom lol

Very unlikely to be VAG com. I was wary of that when playing with it, made sure the radio, all lights and fans were switched off as the battery can die pretty quickly with these on and the engine off.

Most definitely not. Panic over though thankfully. Got my dad to pop round with jump leads. Ended up with esp fault on the dash but that disappeared by the time I got out the drive. Gotta say though the car sounded like something was loose & flapping around on tick over, I'll be keeping a close eye on that as it wasn't doing it before it went to Vw last Thursday!
