hi all , i was just wondering if any of you lot have machined your sciroccos ? if so how hard is the clear coat ? i only ask as I've ran out of a select few pads and i want to update the pads accordingly . I'm experienced in the detailing scene but if any you have got any advice about the scirocco and detailing , please fire away :)

If you were experienced you'd just crack on and do it ;) :P

It's pretty hard, harder than the MK5 platform cars, you will need a Yellow CG Hex Pad or Equivalent and Scholl S3 or equivalent, then refinement.

:) I'm plenty experienced , just better to have plenty of ammunition before i go to war with it lol .
how do you find scholl as a product ? I'm currently using menzerna and auto bites correct it range with some megs 105/205 but I'm looking into trying something different .
Trouble is I'm so used to what i use lol !
I've heard a few people say the clear coat is really thin , i can't measure it yet as i don't get the car till monday ( should of been today so I'm not happy )

Very good.
Unless you have a very expensive PDG you won't be able to measure clear coat amount. I haven't done a Scirocco but I did a Mk6 R in Rising Blue which had around 110 microns everywhere apart from on the lower part of the drivers side wing which had something terrible like 71. But just smash it out.
