Knocking noise

Post by harris91 »

Hi my car had developed a knocking noise it started about a week ago it only does it under engine braking about 60 mph and some times at low speeds , doesn't knock when going over bumps or braking or accelerating just under engine braking.

does anybody have any ideas as is very annoying.

I would be looking at the engine mounts, including the dogbone mount to the gearbox on the subframe underneath the car.

Is it just one clunk noise when you are engine breaking or is it a series of continuous 'knocks' whilst engine breaking?
