Must admit after just driving it for over an hour.
Although its slow as fuck. And the auto box isn't the smoothest in the world it's not the worst car ever.

But come to the conclusion that I need an auto for my next car. Soooooo easy. Just select drive and go lol

Lol Yeh I can believe that.
They are good city cars. And perfect for round town.
But open roads and they just don't have any go in them.

Really like the idea of automatic though.

Interestingly I nearly bought a 1.2ltr polo - took it out for a test drive (bearing in mind that I drive fast for a living) and would have put up with it ! It was sluggish as hell cornered like a trifle on wheels & was more basic than a duplo set inside
Mrs H asked how my test drive went and based in my reaction demanded I reconsider ! The three cylinder £0 tax70+mpg Polo diesel was a non starter - I can't imagine the Up pulling this skin of a rice pudding !! Certainly not with a nutritional overachiever like me behind the wheel !

So I looked at a golf but on a five minute drive down to the local supermarket I saw 57 of them on the road & that was enough

Scirocco it was and always will be my VW of choice - until I get a karmann Ghia when I quit what I'm doing at the moment !!

Joined the forum just say I got nicked for speeding...First time in the new ride. Oh well, it was bound to happen. Just wish is wasn't so damn pricey. Also, if anyone is looking for a service manual for the MK1 Scirocco, found a good site to download one. Cheers and slow down...at least around the bloddy bobbies eh.
