So my car is due for a service, it'll be the first since I've owned it. I'm just over 66k and although when I rang up they said I was out of touch with the cycle and I'd need a full service because I should of had a service at 60k and had spark plugs changed, they were done at 52k and the previous owner had it serviced like every 6 months.
Anyway besides the point, should I take it to the Stealers or get it done by an independent. Whats everyones experiences?
I'm worried that I'll take it to VW and they'll say I need loads of stuff doing that is not necessary.

Re: Service
I was in exactly the same position as you and I chose a highly recommended independent. He was superb and wanted to talk for ages about Vag-Com which is usually a good sign. My full service, new brake pads and AC flush and regas came in at £320. I would suggest that you ask around for a VAG independent with good customer experiences.

Re: Service
Since I bought mine I have only taken it to an independant, mainly because i know and trust the guy with my car which is not how i feel about VW!

Re: Service
I'm in a similar position except I bought my car from VW and as it strands it has FVWSH along with about another 5 months of warranty. I think this time I'm going to have to take it to VW and get it serviced and then consider using an independent when the warranty is up.

Re: Service
Think I'm going to go to an independent, now just to find one. Unfortunately the garage I go to don't do servicing!
