Strictly speaking - No

The background height is undersize by about 6mm . The length is oversize to fill the full width of the gap (although this isn't illegal) . The characters are legal size .

I've never been pulled for it , though it's hardly a pisstake being only a few mm undersize in the height

Will any where do this for you or did you have to source a company that would say yes to doing it?

I have a similar sized plate to UKLee. I got mine from http://www.fancyplates.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, was a straight forward procedure with custom size plate. My plate is smaller though at 580mm x 84 and 'font 1' with honeycomb effect. Never had an issue with this plate. Though to be honest 520 x 90 would have been perfect. £14.50 a plate if a custom size.

UKLee as long as you meet these requirements you're fine. There is no max for actual plate size.

Characters
Height 79mm
Width (except the figure 1 or letter l) 50mm
Stroke 14mm
Space between characters 11mm
Space between groups 33mm
Top, bottom and side margins (minimum) 11mm
Space between vertical lines 19

I really don''t get this, why manually if you can have it all automatic? Id like to be visible when im driving, always have the lights on drl during daytime. If you want you can code them only to be on with lightswitch in auto positition.

Auto always had the lights on during daytime beforehand anyway. To be fair if a driver cannot see another car in broad daylight they should not be driving!

I personally think lights permantly on in daylight is unecessary, I get the safety aspect but being permanently on and the manufacturers manual method for disabling it being disabled itself is also rediculous.

I always use my lights in low light and bad weather conditions anyway like any other car, in daylight id prefer them to be off when set to 0. :D

I have heard that most of Europe lawfully requires lights to be on at all times which if I ever took my car to any of those countries I would check local laws before travelling. But the UK isnt Law, otherwise all car would need lights on at all times, not just new ones which ( tend to have better brakes anyway, seems more to do with safety than lights) so I will stick with this. Its not hard to flick the switch over to the right anyway ;)
