Sumatra Scirocco TSI

Post by aza »

Hi everyone,

Well I am very pleased with my new Sumatra 2.0TSI manual.
I want to make this car as good as possible so I am starting my story here. I have always wanted a Scirocco and managed to find a Sumatra with Vienna Truffle leather interior. I am not sure how many of these there are left any ideas fellow members

Mods so far
Today it is in at the sprayshop having the wheels re-painted and also some scuffs painted.

Next steps:
Paint Grill
get lowering springs (any ideas which make is best and how does this effect the magnetic suspension... any advice would be grealy appreciated

Any other tips on what you think I should do to gt the most out of this car?

about the lowering springs: i have VWR (volkswagen racing) springs these drop about 30mm, ride quality feels pretty much the same no loss in comfort or anything and since the drop isnt too much can still handle speed bumps, this was a concern for me due to the estate in live in, so if you have alot of bumps id recommend these.
alot of guys also have H&R springs i think they are supposed to drop about 5mm more

with either of these your ACC (mag suspension) isnt effected and will still work

fitting costs around £150 and i bought mine from awesome GTI

the other essential mod is a REMAP

Love this colour....

I'm 2nd'ing VW Racing lowering springs. Sits perfectly, as it should've come out of the factory. And doesn't invalidate any warranty, comes with a certificate from VW saying its designed to work with your car and won't ruin anything basically.

As for upgraded headunits, if you change from an RCD510 to an RNS510, you'll find the RNS510 has a bigger amplifier so the sound output is much better and the speakers much more punchy.

thanks everyone, I went through the task of updating the interior lights on a 25c sunny day... I nearly melted but just wanted to get it done.
They are the best £16 I have spent and so much better than the standard.
Also car will be back from spray shot later so will upload pics of wheels and bodywork...

I was trying to upload some pics of the wheels and spray job but not allowed. I keep getting: 'Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.'
