Soon as I saw your username just now I recognized it too lol. You not seem to see a trend of sorts of what people choice of cars seem to be? Like progressing from one car to another then previous forum users buy the same car at some point lol. Was like it with the ftooc, few went on to the zeds etc

Cars you have owned before getting a Rocco??
I've had waaay too many at 26.
1998 Mk1 1.2 Clio
1992 Mk1 1.8 16v Clio
1996 1.8 Ford Escort
1998 S2 106 GTI
1998 Punto GT Turbo
2001 Ph1 Clio 172 (the start of an unhealthy obsession)
Longest car owned, ended up at 240bhp with a supercharger
Ended up on fire
Then another bought for a runaround.
1997 Fiat Coupe Turbo (340bhp) swiftly broke
After a bad run of breaking cars I bought
2004 Golf R32
5 weeks later it was crashed into
So I bought my 4th Ph1 Clio 172 for a runaround and drove it to Paris.
I then bought another Ph1 Clio which was 330bhp, which again broke too soon so as did the runaround I was using for a second car.
I then bought ANOTHER Ph1 172, which I kept reasonably clean.
I then decided to go for the Jap approach, which again ended badly, as something minor broke and I got bored of it.
ST205 Celica GT-Four
A friend had bought a Ph1 172 which had some very good modifications, nothing special, just right and running around 190bhp. So I sold the GT4 as I wanted this car after doing a few trackways with him.
It then turned into the greatest Ph1 I ever had. Ended up tidying it up and bolting a supercharger on again, everything done on my driveway in the space of four weeks. Car ran faultlessly and made 250bhp on a map suited for the last car the ECU and SC kit was on.
Within days of it being finished I decided to tag along with some friends and head over to the Nurburgring. On a whim and fingers crossed it would be ok, it was brilliant, no issues and nearly got there on one full tank. Well I changed my brake pads on the way as I knew they would need doing at some point.
Amazing trip
The white one was my old one which ran 330bhp, on this trip it had a different engine that ran about 210bhp.
The when we were back I ran it all summer, tidying it up and looking nice, upped the boost a bit and it started breathing oil so was broken for bits.
We then started saving for a house so to tide me over I got a clean low mileage Ph2 172 which was a great all a rounder with some suspension tweaks and refresh.
Which also got taken to the Nurburgring last year
The weather wasn't as great most of the trip
I then sold it for the final bit of the house deposit
I then spent 6 months without a car sharing the Missus' Corsa VXR, which I did not like and then we clubbed together after knowing our monthly outgoings for the house and bought Rocco.
Reading back through that I've actually missed out a few projects in between!

Re: Cars you have owned before getting a Rocco??
Had a few cars over the past 7 years or so,
1- Toyota Yaris SR, learned to drive in it and done my driving test in it. Kept it for just over a year and then gave it to my sister when she passed her test.
2- Ford Fiesta Freestyle. Fun little car, cheap and reliable too. Had it for just under a year and then wanted something a bit newer, as this was slowly being eaten away by tin-worm!
3- Toyota Yaris T-Sport. Again, enjoyed owning it and was heaps of fun. Insurance dropped considerably after a year of owning it so decided to trade up.
4- Toyota Corolla T Sport. Loved it. Sounded incredible, was comfy and really well made, a Type R without the price tag. Had it for about 18 months and then became fixated on buying a turbo diesel. Later regretted selling it massively.
5- Seat Ibiza FR TDi. Definitely didn't think this one through properly, felt really quick on the test drive because of the torque, but soon got bored with it. Only had it 5 months and it broke... a lot. Hated that everything creaked and rattled inside too.
6- Ford Focus ST. Best car I've ever owned. Stage 2, sounded amazing and was an absolute rocket. Kept it for 2 years but it started showing its age and I wanted something that could do more than 20mpg on the way to work.
And the Scirocco is where I am now. Took me a long time to decide what to replace the focus with and I definitely made the right choice...

Re: Cars you have owned before getting a Rocco??
Tend to keep my cars for a bit so only had 5 including the roc. Started off with the usual cheap insurance jobbers:
Golf mk3 1.4
Civic hatch 1.4
Then insurance was a bit cheaper so moved on to a 200sx s14a:
Then moved to a Saab 93,
And then the roc. Loved the 200sx and always regretted selling it, although I realised that Ive had a 2.0T engine in my last 3 cars!

1) 2008 I got my first car age 20 which was a new fiesta zetec s TDCi mk6 (then outgoing shape so cheaper) and kept it for five years with only doin 30k in it as had 9 bikes in this time.
2) Then had to move to a flat n ditch the bike so wanted as fast a car as I could but a 2.0 rocco was too much n I didn't want the 1.4 so I got
3) Mini Cooper S 2010 then 4 months later got the car I have now and shoulda got in the first place 2.0 rocco although diesel.

Re: Cars you have owned before getting a Rocco??
My first car was a Vauxhall Nova 1.2 Antibes which was bought in early 1998, no pictures sadly!
2ND car was another Vauxhall Nova, this time a 1.4 SR which i bought in summer 1999.Had it lowered. Loved this one although the breaks were s**t. Again no pics.
3RD car was yet another Vauxhall, this time a sensible Corsa 1.2 SXi. Ended up lowered on coilovers, body trim colour coded and irmsher parts added.
4TH car was a Vaxhall again, it was the Astra Coupe 2.2 litre, a big jump from the 1.2 Corsa! This ended up remaped, GSi front bumper, after market alloys and lowered on Eibach. i think it was 2005 i bought this.
5TH car..... Yep a Vauxhall, it was an Astra 1.9 CDTi SRi, my first diesel, being honest i bought this for its performance figures, 150 BHP and 236 lb/ft torque.Bought in 2007. This went on to have Eibach springs, TD 1.2 Alloys and a DTUK greenbox which on the roller produced 199 BHP and 322 lb/ft torque. Awesome car and this one i do miss
6TH car was a Volvo C30 1.6 D2 R Design, fully loaded with tones of options. Bought in 2012.
My 7th and current car...... VW Scirocco 2.0 TSi GT with black Lugano Pack, lowered on Eibach and some subtle mods.Bought December 2013

Cars you have owned before getting a Rocco??
I've not yet purchased a Rocco R, but will very shortly. Here's the cars I've had bar my first two which were Nissan Micra and Renault Clio
Renault Clio 182 I really miss this
TVR Tamora, still got this, but currently in progress building a Sagaris as well.
The noise of this is intoxicating.
BMW M3 Factory Tuned by AC Schnitzer with every option available, rare Laguna Blue paint. 380bhp. I undersold this and regret selling.
Audi S4 Cabriolet, great subtle car. Lovely soundtrack, heavy on fuel.
Bentley GT, luxury mile muncher.

It has a 179 Holden Red motor and a Hydramatic transmission and is currently in its 4th year of being restored by myself. everything has been replaced or refurbished being a concourse restoration. - Still own
3.
