Petrol talk..
Ok, so what are peoples thoughts on what petrol they are using.. Ive not really noticed any difference using 97 Ron fuel (although only using odd tankfulls isnt exactly scientific!) and Tesco 99 seemed to run through the car! The only difference I have noticed however, is that putting standard 95 RonTesco fuel in seems to make her more hesitant and no where near as quick to respond / accelerate etc.. What are people using?
No Scirocco now - Just a black '57 Plate Black Jetta!

Same - Shell V-Power. Still running in so can't really compare performance but the 'cleaner' the fuel the better as far as I see it.

Re: Petrol talk..
only ever premium fuel so:
Sainsburys Ultimate (BP supply sainsburys so this is effectively BP Ultimate)
BP Ultimate
V-Power
I wouldn't go near Tesco's 99RON as it's not a regular fuel - they put in some biofuel to bring it up to 99RON if memory serves me right and it's not as clean as the 97's you'll get from shell / BP.

Get someone to fill your car for you and see if you can guess which fuel they have used! That’s probably as good a test as any…

Re: Petrol talk..
First 2 tankfuls were normal 95 unleaded. Have recently put in Texaco 97, can't say I can detect any difference. Will probably settle for normal 95.

Re: Petrol talk..
With pervious cars I have used shell V-power, Aral (BP) ultimate and super (95ron) and could feel no difference in performance with any of them and that includes doing 155mph runs on the Autobahn.
I have only used super in my scirocco since I got it and it works fine. If it is not broke why fix it.
Does it not say in the brochure that the engine is optimised for 95ron fuel?

Re: Petrol talk..
Can anyone confirm whether they get more mpg out of using 97/premium fuel vs standard 95 RON? Could be useful to know for when I'm doing long trips, and want to reduce my pitstops!
