Viper Downunder - First Pics

Post by Paul Denney »

Hi, just picked up my new Rocco, after getting out of a 2005 Mark V Golf GTI. Here are the first photos, hot off the press. It is a great Autumn day in Auckland NZ, sunny and warm ( 22c). Perfect driving conditions.

As far as I know I am the only Viper on the road in Auckland. The new Scirocco landed in NZ 3 weeks ago, so not many on the road.

I purchased it sight unseen, based on reports from the UK car mags, Tyresmoke and of course this forum. The colour was a bit of a gamble, but I really love it, particularly the hue in different lights. It's getting lots of admiring looks.

So far only deliverery km's, and a 35 minute drive. This weekend will enable me to get more acquainted with the car.

That looks fab :)
Is it a fairly unusual kind of car to have down there?

Looks super, getting the pano roof was a good decision  it may not be very functional but greatly enhances the cars appearance.

Hi Kev, thanks for your reply. The Scirocco has just arrived in NZ about 3 weeks ago. For some reason Australia are not getting the Rocco ( how sad for them) So not many on the road so far.
I know you guys have had it for about a year. We will be getting the Mark 6 GTI in a couple of months I believe, so much closer to your arrival date.

Question: Could you tell me how I add an Avatar to my posts. Also do you know how too add photos to they appear in the body of the text, rather than an attachment.

Cheers

Hi Paul

To add an Avatar, click 'User Control Panel' below the Scirocco Central logo (top left of screen), then click the Profile tab, then Edit Avatar. You can then upload an image.

To add photos, most people host the photos on free web-hosting sites such as PhotoBucket or Flickr. Once the image is uploaded to one of those sites, you can simply link to the image by inserting the link into your post, using the [img] tags. To make it easier, where you want to insert an image in your post, click the Img tab which you'll find below the Subject box when writing a new post - This will automatically insert the [img] tags for you, all you then have to do is copy and paste your image URL in between the two tags.

Hope that helps.
