My Black Rocco =D
Hey all,
Been on here a while now, got my black on black 170 TDi Rocco on the 1st Feb, absolutely love it! I'm not overly handy when it comes to modifications, but I love looking after a car and making it special!
Here it is as stock... I had to put my name on it
What I want to do:
1. Get my hands on some VCDs to:
Switch my DRLs to the sidelights
Needle Sweep on start up
Big Speedo on the MFD
Alarm blip when locking (not sure about this one yet)
2. Switch Bulbs to white looking ones
3. Lower it (have to wait a year till I'm 25 though, stupid Direct Line ) thinking the VW-R springs?
4. Remap (not sure which to go for; Revo, AmD, APR or Celtic)

Re: My Black Rocco =D
First logical thing to do was to give it a polish and wax pampering day...
Whilst I was going around it, I noticed the VW centre caps on the alloy wheels were a bit worn, so I ordered a new set off eBay and got them changed pretty swiftly! You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: My Black Rocco =D
Whilst on the the Facebook group "VW Scirocco MK3 Owners Club UK" I saw a guy who had put red styling tape on the front grill.
Really liked how it looked and thought it would really set off the front of the car, so I gave it ago! With an added bit on the back just because...
And as you all know, stripes on cars add at least an extra 5bhp haha

I like the red on the bottom grill. But not a fan of the red on the black grill and on the rear boot.
I put red pin stripe tape on my grill yesterday. Rained last night and it came straight off. Pretty disappointed .

Yeh looks great.
Well long as you like it that's all that matters. I prefer just the bottom grill personally.

Iime plain as well but devil right you should it the way you like it. If everyone thought the same it would be a boring forum with every car the same colour and with the same wheels & mods.whiteDevil_170 wrote:Yeh looks great.

Yeh otherwise we would all be driving white tdi 170s with 19 lugano alloys and black mirror caps.

Changed my bulbs over.
My set up:
Sidelights: LEDs
Dipped: Xtecs
Full Beam: Osram Nightbreakers
Not quite the white look I was going for, but definitely not as yellow...
Side and Dipped Side, Dipped and Full

Re: My Black Rocco =D
Just some cheap w5w LEDs off eBay.
I'd recommend buying off somewhere like amazon though and make sure they're actually error free, I get an error message on start up which disappears when I put it in gear, not enough to complain on eBay about... But it bugs me lol

20th July 2015 - I had mine remapped at Performance Torque in the West Midlands (https://www.facebook.com/ptorque/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

10th April 2016 - I got me some GT badges for both front wings

Re: My Black Rocco =D
Oh and a few comparison pics...
Ignore the kerbing on the alloy
Thats next on my to do list, going to go stock silver I think
Also considering wrapping the bar just below front bonnet and removing red tape
And still weighing up doing a headlight retrofit to get Xenons
