Looking at going for a 200cell sports cat system which would you say is the better system and why. I live about 10mins from each

Re: Bcs power valve or pipewerx
Everyone who has had a bcs exhaust fitted has had nothing bad to say about them. And from what I have seen , read and heard they are top quality.
I know that if I was to ever go down the custom exhaust route I'd go with bcs.

Re: Bcs power valve or pipewerx
Over the years I have owned a few cars with very good quality custom exhaust systems and they will always have their place for one offs where you just can't get anything else. That isn't saying they are compromised and inferior, in fact the build quality can surpass a lot of off the shelf products.
Of the 2 I would go for the BCS exhaust due to the power valve option. Most super cars and expensive manufacturers are using these systems nowadays to assist with low down torque whilst the valve is closed and reduced back pressure when on boost. BCS have been around for a while now and have made minor adjustments to their VW systems due to R&D and dyno feedback. Even the positioning of the boxes and cat can play a big part in improving power, especially in the low to mid range.
In 2 weeks I will be fitting their Powervalve Sports system with their new 200 cell reduced core big bore cat, flexible joint and Motorsport clamped heat wrap. I'm very critical over buying performance parts and will give full review once fitted. Trust me if its not top quality it will be getting sold.

Re: Bcs power valve or pipewerx
Thank you for the replies! It's the valve I'm unsure on, what if the valve fails? I like my cars to sound quite throaty on idle which I can't see happening with the bcs unless on boost. On the other hand it would be nice to have the valve to stop my gf moaning it's too loud around town! I've seen a few vids of the scirocco R popping and banging is this down to the exhaust or a mapping parameter?

Re: Bcs power valve or pipewerx
It will sound louder than a standard R anyway due to the cat and exhaust being larger bore. The valve is t electrical like the Armytrix unit and known to be very reliable just opening due to pressure.Topcat1910 wrote:Thank you for the replies! I'm pretty sure it will be loud enough but there is always the option to halve the length of the centre box instead of totally removing it.

Perfect like I said in the other post I'll call them in the morning when I get a minute in work and order one.Stu13R wrote:It will sound louder than a standard R anyway due to the cat and exhaust being larger bore. I looked at the armytrix but I got the impression from a few posts they never put much research into the scirocco exhaust more bothered about their high end clients

I actually like the Armytrix exhausts and it is pretty easy to do the design work on a Roc system. All you do is copy the bore size and where the boxes are on the current best exhaust and job done.Topcat1910 wrote: Perfect like I said in the other post I'll call them in the morning when I get a minute in work and order one.

I don't think Armytrix would want to ruin their rep making a bad exhaust for a Roc or they may as well make exhausts for all the chavvy cheapo cars on the market. For me I didn't like the electric Powervalve and the fact theirs is either open or closed and not variable.
