noisy turbo recall

Post by BAIKAR »

Hi just wondering if anyone has seen the post on the other scirocco forum of a recall being done on a customers car before they even pick it up?

Don't know yet if its a 2.0 or 1.4 but the recall is for a turbo noise / whistle / rasp that quite alot of us have noticed even from new.

waiting to hear back from him

Interesting - mine's going in for some other work next week so I wonder if they'll mention it? Maybe I will...

umm I have the rasping, but as many others also have it I thought it was normal...

Sure you will, but keep us posted on this one!

If it is a recall god knows which local VW dealer I will trust to take it to though after the mess last time...

I thought the rasping was just the exhaust, I quite like it!

So has anything official been announced about all this? Seems that quite a few of us suffer from the rasp/rattle at approx. 2000rpm, so its difficult to know if its a trait of the car or something more serious. Anyone maybe work in a VW dealership or have been in contact with their dealer who could maybe shed a bit more light on the matter?

Cheers!

Yeah if you wouldn't mind, Turbo, that would be fantastic. I'd be curious to see if any of your correspondance from VW makes mention of it. Would also be interested to hear if you guys have had many comments from 2.0TSI Roc owners about the noise and if the mechs have any suggestions as to what it might be? Cheers for your help!

Spoke to a VW dealer today, and he has nothing about a recall from Volkswagen.
