So I've had my car for 6 weeks. In the first week I noticed that the light for reverse on the shifter didn't light up, so it went back to vw for that to be checked out. When I was there I just mentioned that I felt like the engine and transmission were jumping when it changed to first gear when stopping. The service guy got a tech to come with me on a drive and he felt it through the floor too. So.... It went it for diagnostics a week later, new mechatronics was fitted about 10 days after that. This fixed problems I didn't even know we're problems..not had dsg before. It made it easier to reverse and pull off smoothly, however, the engine and trans jolt is still there. I've done 500 miles in a the week since its been replaced so it's not that it won't of adapted yet. It's back at vw now, they have stuck me in a 1.0 polo! Lovely! Lol and they are testing my car to find out what the problem is. Has anyone got any experience of this problem? It's driving me crazy.

Update; vw have replaced the clutch pack and are on with stripping the brakes down to try and sort it. Had a massive nightmare with the loan car too.. Windscreen got a stone chip, totally not my fault but had to pay the £250 excess, I kicked off about it but they said I couldn't have another loan car until it was paid and I had an exam on that afternoon. Anyway so having kicked off and stating that I wouldn't have been in a loan car if I hadn't been sold a defective vehicle, and the windscreen cover on my car policy being £75 I said that I would happily pay that but they wouldn't have it. So £250 down and very annoyed, I threatened to reject the roc under sale of goods act and take my money elsewhere. Low and behold, they are giving me my £250 back and are totally going over the roc with a fine toothed comb. Hope it sorts it.

Got the car back today. It's perfect now. It had new clutch pack, the brakes stripped and cleaned. And also had the steering rack aligned and 4 wheel alignment. There's no slam/clunk/recoil feeling when stopping and the car changes into first gear at all now. Also the jolt when changing from drive to reverse has gone completely. I'm so relieved, I can fall back in love with it now.

Dsg 7 speed been nightmare for me. VW not helpful - currently replacing the clutch pack (at 15k miles) and they're only giving 60% good will. Hoping it's all sorted after clutch pack - £1200. My issue was 1st to 2nd gear juddering and vibrating - common issue apparently. Glad u got yours fixed !
