Cost estimate for deep scratch

Post by tv3g11 »

Hi,
I am planning on purchasing a VW Scirocco however there is a very deep scratch which I can feel with my fingernail (Owner said the car was keyed) . I've talked to Chipsaway (located in london) they've given me a quote approximately £280 inc VAT, does this seem reasonable? Can anybody recommend any other good repair specialists in the London area.

Where is it located on the car mate? £280 sounds a lot!

Even for a full arch spray that's mega expensive IMO

Chipsaway are a 'smart repair' franchise company and will most likely try to repair that outside. Personally I'd be going to a proper body shop, £280 should see a whole panel painted and to a much higher standard than the average 'smart repair'.
