Does anyone know where I could get just the replacement plastic door mounting cover? A deer has very kindly collided with my car whilst parked, leaving skin marks on the paint work and smashing the wing mirror mounting cover. Luckily the door mirrors were folded so everything else is fine and the skin marks have have been polished out. To top it off the car is a month old. grrrr
VW have quoted £201.60 +vat as they want me to buy the whole mirror.
All help would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, you can't buy that cover separately as they are a fixed part of the housing. If it was the outer cover (the bit directly below the indicator) then it would be an easy replacement.
You'll be best off looking at ebay/scrap yards for a replacement especially if the painted cap is undamaged. This link http://www.partscats.info/volkswagen/en ... id=3096458" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will show you an exploded diagram of the mirror and all the part numbers required for your search.
Once you have a new mirror, uklee's guide on fitting power fold mirrors gives detailed instructions on how to get it mounted: http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 37&t=14719" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Replacement drivers side door mirror mounting
Thank you Wensleydale. I am finding it incredibly frustrating that it is going to cost me quite a lot of money for a simple plastic cover. Wish VW were like Audi and you could buy the parts for your wing mirror.
Anyways once again you for your help
