Mines been back to the garage 4 times in the 4 weeks I'v had it, for build quality issues!
Every time I go out in it another rattle or squeak develops.
I started it up this morning and there was a horrible sound coming from under the steering column of plastic rattling and chaffing.
Its driving me insane. It reminds me of driving an old transit van of 25 years ago.
Regarding the dash board dials they are an embarrassment! but after a while YOU don't notice them, just your mates do ... taking the P!$$
What the hell were VW thinking of ... oil temperature is in the MFD ... a stop watch !! Why? Do we really need the time displayed in triplicate ... and turbo Boost pressure WFC! Are they building the thing for 16 year old kids.
All In I'm not impressed ... and its going to be a long three years as its a company car .... now when do the roads get icy again!!
Sounds like your not happy I've had Vw cars for the past 15 years with no major problems that can't be fixed , all I can say I'm a happy scirocco facelift owner if your not happy with it return it or may be need to go on the transit forum

I think whoever it was at VW that fitted the clocks must pull one off regularly :hyper:

Had my first VW 30 years ago ... Mk1 Golf GTi and never had a bad car until now.
That's why I'm so unhappy with this latest one. Where has VW gone wrong?

That's unfortunate I don't know if this is your first scirocco my first had rattles most of that was the boot Vw rectified that
if my car was just four weeks old and Such a ball ache I would leave it on the forecourt where you picked it up they'll soon give you a new one

Love the wheels.. nice choice on the exhaust bcs sounds fantastic. How are you doing the exit? Your car has a single exit where as the ones pictured have twin exit.

I've purchased an r rear diffuser so it's going to be twin exit just don't know if to go with black tips or stainless
I'm thinking stainless tips as in blue car pic what do you think

Exhaust fitted by bcs today by Nigel and his crew all I can say is if you want perfection these are the guys to purchase an exhaust from I turned up at 9.30 to have my exhaust fitted , I was taken to the waiting room supplied with coffee then I was told that the facelift was different to the original scirocco , these guys spent five and a half hours changing this exhaust so it was fitting perfect and all I can say is there customer service is way up there , they will not let you leave until there happy with it and it's perfect ,top notch lads
Here is some quick pics from today

Sounds like ***Topher*** isn't a happy man.
I have had two facelift's since its launch, granted the first one was a factory mis-build but drove well and was built like a brick **** house as is the new one. This is my 4th VW (2 golfs and 2 sciroccos) and all of them have been fantastic. I often get people asking to sit in it and looking around it when it's parked up. Even turns heads when you pull up next to someone. Before ordering the facelift version I made sure I did my research and ended up back where I started. The Merc A class has to be the worst car I've ever driven so unresponsive and being 6ft4 didn't fit me. Plus if you think the dials in the facelift are bad have you seen the cheap looking speedo in the Merc with its horrible italic numbers and scalextric style dials?

***Topher*** if you don't like it and its rattling just return it and state you have lost all confidence in that particular car and you want a re-build.

Les: That exhaust system looks brilliant. Very tempted myself.

I agree it really does. The twin chrome pipes on the Tdi184 are ok but no where near as neat as that. I'll have to find somewhere down in Herts that will be able to do the job

You should give them a call speak to Nigel it would be a nice drive up to st Helens for you , bad part is buying the rear diffuser that was £180 I've found out it's the same product code as the pre facelift model I'm sure there will be some second hand ones out there , easyrider has that carbon one he has taken off his

It looks more aggressive with the new exhaust, really nice. Perhaps, the back of the car would look even better without so many badges.

Was this car at gladwins body shop in Peterborough getting the front end repaired? Sure it looks like the one we had in that I painted!
