Picked up a 2012 1.4tsi a few months ago - 50000km. All going good so far. I've a few months left in the warranty so I just wanted to check a few things.
The first thing is when I start the engine sometimes it starts at 1200 rpm and then drops back to the normal 7/800 within 45 seconds. Other times it will start at the 700 rpm. Nothing to do with outside temperature, engine temperature etc as it's completely random when it starts at the higher revs maybe 1 in every 5 times.
There is a slight creak from the steering wheel when turning one direction. Could it be the rack and could it need replacing?
Driving at very low speeds circa 10kph if you have the radio off and the is no other noise in the car you can hear a squeaking from the gearbox as you put your foot on and off the accelerator. If your driving in heavy slow traffic is when I might notice it.
Any other known issues to watch out for?
