Hello,
I noticed today when paralell parking on a hill that when I was holding the car on the clutch the exhaust was smoking quite a bit. Fine when I came off the gas and parked. Should I be worried?
Possibly connected, I also sometimes hear a high pitched whirring noise when trying to find the bite on the clutch when cold. Could this be connected?
Appreciate any help you can give

Are you sure it is the exhaust smoking? Do you get a burning smell in the car - if so then may be the clutch on the way out.

No burning smell that I have noticed. Its odd - its certainly not all the time but the occasional high pitched whine when cold does un-nerve me a little!

It's most certainly this http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 25&t=18543" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Starting to become more common now by the look of it.

I am sure you are right Gaz - thanks for that
I got a 3 month warranty from the (independent) dealer. I will see what he says but dont hold out much hope as the warranty is one they provide themselves - Im sure I will be fobbed off with a 'wear and tear' response. Does this seem fair less than a month after I bought it? should I push the issue?
Already had the sat nav reboot issue within a week which I had to pay 50% of (£125) - beginning to wish I hadnt bought it now!! but everything was fine on the test drive....
