Had a 184HP facelift Tdi pretty much match the 2.0 Tsi flat out acceleration! Damn these diesels are getting quick! Time for a remap? :)

I had the same a few weeks ago with a brand new Golf GTD. Surprised at how well it kept up.

7.3 0-60 is the actual time they get and with a remap they can get between 6.2 and 6.5 I read, which is pretty good. You are dead right selleym, my Tdi sounds no where near as good as a petrol turbo.

It will be interesting to see the first Tdi on here that goes for the Darkside large turbo fast road kit.

Diesels are becoming surprisingly quick nowadays. there is a vid on YouTube of a bmw 335d alpina vs a new bmw m3. And there wasn't much in it. I can't wait to get mine remapped.

Anyway. To celebrate me reaching 2000 posts!! I just gave my car a wash. Was filthy after all this wind blowing crap off the roof at work.

Polished out some scratches and flatted back the dodgy paint repairs with wet+dry paper then compound - worked beautifully.

tiny bit of low gloss remains, think i need a finer compound but in danger of getting flatter than the existing paintwork too, might wait and get the whole car done by machine. What does a thorough exterior detailing cost on a rocco?
don't be fooled by the 'roc that i've got

 excuse the dirtyness :D
Looks so much smarter now! How the car should have come stock!
Also discovered that my old pedals must have had an issue. The old accelerator had a dead spot the first few mm of travel.
Now its instant. Very strange! But all good now :)

couple of little fixes and tweaks: anti-rattle tape under the boot trim clips to stop them sliding when i open the boot if they work loose again, plus put some tiger seal around the clips to hold them in place. hoover, interior clean, fixed the metal footrest pedal down properly, washed the black boot blanket and got the small stone out of the plastic wheel arch trim by using a right-angle torx alan-key type thing - which meant i didn't have to take the wheel off. re-fitted the diffuser, using all the clips this time (!) happy victor. no point washing it; i've got 1,000 miles to do this week (work's paying for petrol, too, gonna be fun...)

That's a lot of miles in a week, just as well your mileage is so low. :)

Well I scraped one of my fairly new 20's on a kirb, damaging about 30mm of rim. I'm too pissed to take a photo. I was on a small road and reversed out of the way of a lorry and the rest is depressing history. :grumpy:

I have now decided to get all my wheels changed to gloss black. I loved the look of my wheels when facing them but from any other angle you cannot see the machined metal parts on all of the spokes making it look odd. Anyway that's what I am saying to make myself feel a bit better.

I removed the 'scirocco' and '2.0tsi' badges today. Looks better without them in my opinion. Been meaning to do it for a while now.
I also cleaned the exhaust tips. They were beginning to look completely black.
