Hi Guys,
Thinking of adding the bluetooth prep to my order. Does anyone here have it? Does it work well?
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Bluetooth Preparation
looked into it myself, it is a Nokia kit and is not compatible with many phones (particuarly iPhone and Blackberrys).
Hence Skoda kit, Fiscon or Parrot kit

Re: Bluetooth Preparation
I have ordered the telephone prep kit and have a Blackberry 9000 which I read somewhere was compatible. For £300 approx I hope it is compatible as I won't be changing the phone for a couple of years.

Re: Bluetooth Preparation
Sorry, the answer from VW Customer Service when I asked (two weeks ago) before I ordered it was not was not positive (See attached)! So I did not order and will get and alternative. Plenty of comments on the forums, Fiscon or Skoda parts look best bet. If you have just ordered you maybe able to change the order.

pardon my language but thats f****ing ridiculous...
why dont vw say in the brochure that the premium bluetooth only works with some nokia phones?
its a disgrace and if i can't get my rSAP enabled phone (blackberry bold) to work with my scirocco when it comes, god help the poor salesman who sold me the car...
not impressed vw

Re: Bluetooth Preparation
I talked to the Danish VW importers tech-guy, and he said (not in writing) that VW reconissed the problem, and are working on a solution. It is my impression that Danish VW did not see it as a fault, just unfullfilled customer expectations. So my guess is that any solution they come up with is going to cost money

Re: Bluetooth Preparation
even if they fix it, its not good to anybody that already has it...
how shortsited can the vw design team actually be?!?!
what i don't understand is how so many other car companies (often with much smaller budgets) can get bluetooth preparation working for any and all phones, with the minimum of fuss.
HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT REALLY BE!?!?!

Re: Bluetooth Preparation
Strictly speaking, they do have it working - in their factory fit Bluetooth Basic.
