Could be a Stupid question about Screen Wash?!

Post by Mish4444 »

Hi Guys,

I have got a good layer of polish and wax on my car and its looking great at the moment! I just wanted to ask if screen wash is likely to aid int he breakdown of the protection?!

if it is are there any which are better than others?!?

Im thinking of applying G3 to the windscreen with the screen wash trash that?

Thanks for your help.

You will degrade most organic waxes with screen wash, as it's main component to prevent icing is Isopropanyl Alcohol. Basically the same stuff we as detailers use to wipe down panels prior to applying waxes to remove any oils.

Gtechniq G1 or CarPro Fly By Forte are good windscreen and glass sealants which are pretty simple to apply and will mean you won't need to use the Washers as much.

I also fire lots of little bursts rather than holding my washers on as this reduces spray over the rest of the car.
