It's been a productive weekend...
  • Had the rattle clip fitted to the wastegate actuator. SOOO glad to be rid of that noise. :)
  • Turned off dipped beam DRL (my local independent garage has VCDS!)
  • Switched the open "ashtray" for the 4 button Golf MK4 ashtray (£15 on eBay).
  • Refitted the boot lid trim with lots of anti rattle tape where the metal clips go in (hopefully that's the end of a really annoying rattle).
  • Washed the car.
  • Changed the wheel centre caps and sealed the wheels.

I spent all day detailing the car.

- Foam washed
- Washed
- Clay Bar
- Polished
- Waxed

and then repeated the process on 3 other family cars!

Oh and replaced my DRL lights to the Dectane ones. Really does make the front look more agressive in my opinion.

Fitted black aluminium paddle extensions to the steering wheel. Much easier using the DSG paddles now :hyper:

2 days after collecting it someone came round a corner in the middle of a road near me and in an attempt to avoid them I've kerbed one of my shiny 19" Luganos. What a rubbish start to the day.

Oooh. Very smart!

Today I finally fitted locking wheel nuts and considering the palava with them not being a VW type and the only UK ABT supplier not knowing anything about the wheels at all I'm pleasantly surprised they fitted beautifully. There's even a slot in the foam on the spare wheel that the locking nut fits into snugly. Lovely car. Not making Richtersport look good though.... Gotta try and get a few replacement logo stickers from them too - not looking forwards to it

For anyone it could be relevant for they are the ABT BR style 19" rims and the correct McGard set was 28017SU

Now to hunt some quality stonechip repair - gonna see if there's a thread but don't suppose anyone here knows a good'un in the Guildford area? Also a bike and GT86 in the household that might want attention to hoping to find someone who'll do a deal

I washed the R, had a refund from VW finance for mistakenly charging me twice when I got it, and bought these for it for a bit of a change;

Turned the REVO Stage 1 back on :D

It's been said before here but Wow that's more like it. Feels like the car's turned up to work wide awake and ready to fight rather than it's typical confident and relaxed posture, and it can still do calm driving so it's not too psycho-mode.

Thanks to Ryy for the switch and bits, starting to get her where I want. LED interiors and xenon headlights to come but that must wait for now

Cleaned the inside from top to bottom. Cleaned and conditioned the leather seats. And put a new auto finesse air fresher in. Much nicer now. Was an absolute mess.
