No you don't have to remove anything with tools, the bulbs are really easy to replace in Scirocco. It's max five minute job to fit new bulbs to headlights (halogens that is). The manual has pretty good instructions with pictures and all. Just remove rubber cover, turn the handle, replace bulb (don't touch the glass with bare hands!), and put the handle and cover back in. The fogs, sidelights and blinkers are a little bit more fiddly, but you need no tools to replace them as well, just flexible hands.

They are called C5W (or C10W) 41 mm Festoon, Soffitte or something like that. You can find plenty of different kinds of them in eBay. I got one with eight SMD leds and one with Cree type led. The SMD one was better. I think that a newer generation of smaller leds (ones with 12 individual leds) no longer need a heat sink so they will fit better. I would probably now get a relacement for the entire unit, not just a bulb. I've seen them in eBay as well.

nice you going to install the small tweeters as displayed on the box as well? if so where you plan to, top of the dash?

I will (try to) install the tweeters as well. Will fit them to the original spots, they are easily disassembled and I will only use the element itself. I'm not going to use the crossover, I will solder OEM connectors to the speaker elements and will use the original wiring harness. I will be then able to restore the original elements when selling the car.

After many problems and obstacles, I finally got the speakers installed today. Had to use the crossover for tweeters after all. I thought OEM system had a crossover somewhere, but it seems there were only capacitors soldered in series with tweeters and nothing more. When I took the OEM tweeters away I also removed the "crossover". I just hot glued the new tweeters on original spots.

The autoleads adapter was no plug'n'play affair either. I had to heavily modify the plastics to get it fit under the door cards. I did use the connector cables, though. Didn't run the woofer signal through the crossover, I read that it would not work, but wanted to try myself. Eventually, it was just too much hassle and I decided not to even try.

The crossovers were huge and I had some problems finding a good place for them. They are held in their place only by some velcro tape and I'll still have to find a way to properly secure them.

Sounds quite good by the way.

Mikko: I'm also living in Finland and just brought my new scirocco from Germany last week. I was planning to have the same pair of 19" ET33 Savannahs installed on it at one of the VW Service Centers in Espoo, but they told me the wheels won't fit! I know they are made for the Tiguan, but how do I get them to install them? Do I need special coils or some other installation guide or something for their technicians? I'm also coincidentally having the same subwoofer installed Friday so they said they can look at my coils while its there....any help I would really appreciate! I've seen a lot of users on here who also have the same Savannahs, they are tight! I just need help how to inform these VW service guys how to do it

this is what the VW guy told me:

"The problem here is that I work for Volkswagen dealer, and I cannot give any guarantee if they will fit or not because they're not officially supposed to put under a Scirocco. If you really have a coilover suspension, it does help because then you can adjust the ride height of your car. I didn't know before if you had a stock suspension or not. But with 235 wide tires, it still may need a fender rolling if you don't want to raise your Rocco as high as a Touareg.
So I'm not sure but like I said, my boss told me it was tried once before and it didn't work out well (that car might had a stock suspension though). He's the man I have to believe if you understand.
We're more than happy to sell you those rims if you want, but we cannot give a right of return for them if they've been tested under the car and they don't fit for some reason."

I wish I had the knowledge to do this myself, because this (and everything) costs a fortune in Finland! But like you guys, I am very proud to have this car

Oh, im sorry i thought that you speak finnish.. Imo the wheels should fit easily even with stock suspension and you shouldn't have problems with strut clearance or get tire rubbing in fenders. I cant guarantee it either. Stock or coilover suspension shouldnt make any difference. I know people who run even wider wheels without any problems.

So Wheels on back will fit easily, but in front there CAN be problems but i dont think that there will be. Maybe you could buy some wheels that are oem scirocco wheels? But if not atleast try the wheels on! Wish i could help more but this is best i can do.

About the Savannahs. I bought mine from VV Center Espoo, they were obliged to say that they won't fit, but sold them anyway with a statement in receipt that they are not meant to be fit to Scirocco. I bought only the wheels from them, tyres from Camskill and got them fitted at local tyreshop. They are actually "illegal", but fit just fine with 235/35 R19 ContiSportContact 5P tyres, at least with minor drop by OEM suspension kit. No problems in front, some negative camber needed in back to be absolutely sure. No rubbing or any other problems, front wheels turn properly.

There is at least one other Scirocco in Espoo with Savannahs, that one with stock suspension.

About the speaker upgrade. The difference is noticeable, not perfect but well worth the upgrade. The Focals sound great, lacking some bass on highway, but otherwise I'm very pleased with results. It would be beneficial to have fully programmable processor to clear some minor faults, though. I guess I would now invest on proper Helix sub and processor.
