Battery problem !! Anyone ?

Post by Dunk04 »

So I've had my scirocco for about a year it's a 1.4 tsi 59 plate.

Two months ago I started to get a bong type sound through the speakers when unlocking the car it would then stop when I put the key in the ignition. it would sometimes bong for quite a while once the car was locked but this was intermittent and random !

I had a look on here and discovered it was a low battery warning. As you do I changed the battery last week and it stopped.

Now it's doing it again  surely it can't drain it that quickly !

Noticed it's also having a caw before it turns over making me think the battery is dead again !

Has anyone ever had this problem before or know what the best think to do is ?

Cheers

Have you checked the output of the alternator to see if the battery is charging. It's also worth checking if there is a circuit causing battery drain.

If you have a multi meter you could see what voltage is at the battery when the car is running should be 14v plus
Never argue with an idiot! They will bring you down to there level..... Then win experience!
