Who can shed some light on this for me then..
i am hoping to replace my standard seats with some sports seats which wont be air bag or heated... what is the best way to over come the connections that are under the seat bases ?
i have heard you can trick the CAN with a 120ohm resister over the terminals?? or can these simply be turned off in Vagcom to tell the car i no longer have air bags and heated seats ...?

You don't need to worry about the seat heating as that won't trigger a light but the lack of an airbag will trigger the airbag light. As far as I know you can't disable it with VCDS and have to fit 4.7 ohm resistors across the airbag terminals .
Although it's for a MK5 Golf the link posted above is a good guide.

Re: Seat Replacement..
Depending on the seats you get you may not need to worry as they will come with plug in airbag resistors.
My Recaros from an S3/RS4 do.
I used a 2.1ohm resistor as on my old Mk5, the 4.7 gave too much resistance.
No need to worry about the heated seats...just leave them unplugged, and happy days.
