My rcd 510 media console isn't working with any function
hi all, I have a 59 plate scirocco which I purchased the other week and have no end of trouble with the rcd 510 screen, I try and connect my htc one m7 via Bluetooth no luck, I try the bt audio no luck, I tried plugging it in through the media in cable (mfi lead) and it says "device not recognised" the only thing that does work is the aux which is no good for anything these days. I have had a look under the passenger seat and I can't see any Bluetooth box, is it hidden? I bought one of those tune2air devices and it connects into the media lead as it flashes up and it pairs with my phone but within 10 seconds I get the message "no device" or "device not recognised". I've tried my girlfriends iPhone 5c with everything and that doesn't work either. Any help please! It's driving me insane

Hi and welcome
There are (or should be) two leads supplied with the RCD which sit in the box between the front seats, one is a 30 pin iPhone connector and the other is a standard USB - your HTC should connect through that if it was supplied with your car.
As for Bluetooth -
Mine was the same as yours and I ended up retro fitting the Bluetooth box - it's fairly obvious as it sits in a grey polystyrene box which velcros to the carpet - no box no Bluetooth - simples
Mine cost a couple of hundred quid to buy (got a unit of eBay) install and code and probably needs updating as although it connects and plays theres no audio information shown on the head unit
It's an expensive mod but there's plenty of help available on the forum
Good luck
