Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Hi all
I've never bought a brand new car before, so can I ask, obviously when you place your order you put down a deposit - is the rest of the balance due on the day you actually drive off the forecourt in the new car?
Just so I can plan when I need the money saved up by...
Thanks

If you pay the balance by switch then on the day is fine. If you are paying by cheque then you will need to pay about a week before to allow time for funds to clear.

If it's a bankers draft though isn't that ok on the day?
I know it was a long time ago but when I picked up my Puma new in '99 I handed over a draft on the day I collected it.

I put my GTI on autotrader at book price ( £11,900 ) no takers, not even a sniff, dropped the price by a grand, and now they are queing round the block, only problem is i am not allowed to sell it until i get my Sciroccodanbailey77 wrote:
Still got to sell my A3 too whihc has been on Autotrader for 2 weeks with only a couple of calls.
Anyone know of anywhere else i could try and sell it as the p ex value is so low!
Its a 56 plate S-Line A3, DSG in Dolphin Grey.
Thanks,
Dan

I ordered mine in August, and i still dont have a build week!!

Play around with the price, and see at what point they bite.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Yeah, reduce the price mate, not as much as you would have hoped for I agree, but a hell of a lot more than what you would get for part ex.
I had no interest all weekend, reduced the price this morning; already 2 very keen callers, only problem for both of them is they're down south and I'm up in Scotland.

I think the bank draft option still requires it to be paid a couple of days in advance now due to counterfeits.Kev wrote:If it's a bankers draft though isn't that ok on the day?

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Dealer gave me a confirmed build week 43. Does that mean it will definately definately be built next week? I cant wait much longer
I mistakenly sold my golf gti too early and have been left carless. Its killing me.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Hi Guys
My car was ordered by the dealer with VW on 25 Aug and the confirmed build is week 45 with delivery estimated to be 3 - 4 weeks after. However, I have decided not to register mine until 5 Jan 2009 how about that for patience! That said I wonder whether i will be able to resist it when I can actually see it waiting for 4-5 weeks at the dealers .... time will tell. Spec is Candy white, dsg, leather with winter pack, mats, cruise and reverse parking, flat tyre warning, sat nav with Dynaudio and elec folding mirrors. I'll have the sill plates fitted as well but not too sure about changing the pedals. I will defo be lowering it by 30mm probably changing the wheels to 10 spoke Sportec but keeping to the standard size and very seriously considering the Oettinger body kit when it arrives here, hopefully before Christmas. Now off to get the VW Driver mag to read the review - my local WH Smiths have put one aside for me ... enjoy
