Scirocco Paint Problem

Post by SPEEDDRV »

Hello everyone,

I have a Scirocco 2.0 TDI and I love it. Although, I have a big issue. And it only has 14k km on the clock.

What i'm going to show you is happening for no particular reason. When I wash it, i just find more of this. It looks like a little rock or something like that hit my car and "varnish" goes away.

On the side there is also the exact same thing.
I have a W211 from 2003, grey, and i see no problems like this. Looks like Scirocco has a poor paint job.

What can I do now? Because this is very noticeable.

That looks like a stone chip and above it the clear coat has been removed. Do you pressure wash the car, if so, I imagine you've got too close and blasted the top coat off. Easily done with a pressure washer.
To correct it you'll need a body shop, probably whole panel job.

That's true my friend. I always wash it that way. Damn, the car is almost new and already has this problem and it's my fault then. I don't know what's worst, high pressure or on usual washers that might scratch our car. Damn it!! :(

Just pressure wash your car from about 2 ft (at least 75cm) away.
If you finding dirt hard to remove then apply some pre-wash by a sprayer or a foam lance for your pressure washer.

Thanks bud. From now on, I will only wash it one meter away with high pressure water! I might find dirt hard to remove and I will remove it by hand! I will never try to do that again with high pressure washer. Never! :D

How close did you pressure wash it before? Do you ever try to remove dirt from just a few cm away?

Yeah folks... Well, I always use high pressure water and to remove dirt I always get very close. Never had a problem on my light grey W211.
