Removing front bumper plus more

Post by Sciroc_Ell »

Hey guys

I'm new here as I'm sure you can see lol.. I recently purchased a cat-c 2009 Scirocco for around 4.5k. Not a lot of damage done to it, needs a new wishbone (rear drivers side), new radiator and new airbags/new dashboard.

I've already bought a new radiator, I was wondering if anyone knows or has any info on putting it in themselves as I'm looking to save a bit of money or if it's best to go to a specialist?

Also, does anyone know the best place to get a new dashboard including airbags thats not too pricey? A friend said I should buy a new steering wheel with airbag and then seal the passenger side back down. At least then I'll be able to pass the VIC test and MOT.

Any thoughts guys?

Thanks

I think if you are repairing a crash damaged car you should do it properly.
I can't imagine it would be hard getting a proper (uncrashed) dashboard from Ebay.

Pretty sure if airbags have been deployed you need a new Airbag ECU module as well, as there will be a permanent fault code stating that airbags have been deployed, and I am not sure if it will then re-deploy again.

It's very hard. Found a couple for like a grand. But it does look like I'm going to have to get it done properly.
I'm going to look into that Airbag ECU module, as I did hear something about that.

Thanks :)
