My R is coming up to 39,000 miles.
No idea If the plugs were replaced by VW dealer when it was serviced before sale.
Last few weeks at times the engine can take a few more cranks than before to start. At the most 1-1.25s to fire up.
But not on every ignition and of course its winter so put it down to temps.
Car doesn't missfire and idling is smooth.
The car doesn't seem as savagely fast as when I got it but put that down to getting used to the power.
Then I read on the R at any rate plugs are due a change at 40k and can wear fairly quickly anyway?
What are peoples experiences?
OEM plugs the way to go or Bosch/NGK iridium/platinum?
Are these signs I need new plugs?

Sorry to bring up a really old thread. Did you change the plugs and if so notice any difference?

They were changed eventually at major service and made no difference.
