Hi Brian,

I picked up my Viper R on 1st November, well chuffed with it and I was overjoyed with my rising blue GT TSi before it.

I had the mirror tops painted Viper green before I took it away as I HATED the chrome topped mirror covers. They did the same with the GTS made the mirror tops a different colour than the rest of the car.

still driving round with a ridiculously silly grin across my face 500 miles later!

Wally

Same here the newer model is so much better apart from the £480 a year road tax but hey you only live once, yet to see another one on the road think am in for a long wait. Ps enjoy your car mate.

Yes, on higher emission cars the 1st year's ved is higher. Think you're self lucky my R32 was £485 per year.

The current rates are on the bottom of this article;

Hi Brian,
congratulations for your ride... it's beautiful. I just have a quick question: can you confirm me that the R TSI motor is the EA113 version?

The updated EA888 motor (the same of the actual Golf R 300hp or Seat Leon Cupra 280hp) has a chain driven cam rather than belt like EA113. Rumors say that the Scirocco R facelift still has the EA113 cam belt ..
