My new (to me )1.4 TSI 160

Post by VWClaty »

Hi all, been a member a while now and finally decided to make my own thread about my car. its a 2010 1.4 160 TSI. I'd basically like all of your advice, as I'm not sure about the front window tints, IMO opinion they are too dark. I'm also looking at a few things such as the MSS spring kit because i can't afford good quality coilovers like KW's and also would prefer not to loose DCC, also an induction kit, mainly the K and N i57, although I've heard bad things about them. and finally (for now) taking the rear wiper off, i haven't actually used it yet, but i was just worried about leaks coming through the bung as a friend had issues with his. I've changed the two VW badges to he matt black, to match the wheels and have wrapped a few bits of the interior in 3M carbon fibre, as i wasn't a fan of all of the silver, let me know what you think! cheers :)

Thanks guys, got some pics to go up soon! now got a miltek non resonated back box, which sounds awesome, a forge blow off valve which I'm still unsure about and also VMaxx 40mm lowering springs, i'm waiting for LED sidelights in the post, also thinking body kit soon, so will get new pics when all is done and dusted! :) and rory, i did it in 3M carbon fibre, ill set some pics for you ASAP, i picked the plastic surrounds out with a standard kitchen knife (probably shouldn't have but got away with it) heated the wrap up with a hair dryer and that was it really, pretty simple! and chriths, i hope it holds up too! its reaching that point now, but I've changed the plugs, oil and all of the filter and I'm going to do it quite often so hopefully it'll be good for 80000 haha!

Nice motor
Personally I think the tints suit the car. Induction kit wise, I use the Neuspeed P-Flo, similar set up to the K&N. had it fitted for over a year now, with no problems. Nice induction roar too :D

Thanks! I removed the tints because they were too dark at night, couldn't see properly out of my side window, and I'll have a look at that! Do you get the turbo chatter coming back through?

@jono thanks for the reply! I'm a sucker for engine noises, I've got a forge BOV in at the mo which I think I'll remove, much prefer to hear the whine of the engine and pops of the exhaust, just a quick question, where did you buy from? I think I've seen them on awesome GTI

@philjay92 cheers :) I was thinking about a splitter, but I'm fancying something like the r-line bumper then adding a splitter to that!, or maybe even a bumper add on from eBay and just work with it until it fits properly.unfortuantely I'm very indecisive with car parts :(
