My first drive with the windows down :)

Post by Hassan Adly »

Today I realised that I haven't yet driven my car with the windows down. So I turned off the music, opened the windows and drove through town.

Again I have to say the sound-proofing on this car is good - I never realised how much noise it makes when I push the accelerator

The rasp, the roar, the turbo-whistle, the occasional squeaks of the tires when I corner hard or floor it from slow speed, I was in raceboy heaven :)

I think my car is mis-specced - it can't be a 1.4 under there making all that sound.

And my car isn't chipped and has a stock exhaust. Hurry up superchips and Milltek, I'm waiting!

I'm sorry to say I can't agree on this. The Golf V platform the roc is built on, is well known for letting too much noise into the coupe from both the weels and the wind passing the windows.
But yes, the exhaust make more sound than you would think, I also love to drive around in the city with the windows down. Especially now that I got it tuned up a bit. :)

I've frequently would the window down on acceleration. I love the exhaust pop on the up shifts. Especially 2nd to 3rd which always seems louder than the rest. :) I don't think I'll ever tire of that.

yeah the exhaust on the 2.0TSi is even louder with the windows down......and the turbo whistle (which cannot be heard with windows closed unlike my old Leon FR) is quite noticeable
