Black dots on white scirocco?
Hello
Does anybody else have this problem?
I got these black dots on my metal as well as plastic parts on my white rocco.
I've tried to clean them by rubbing with cloth+cleaner, but some of them just spreads as black dirt and it looks even worse.

Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
i find auto finesse iron x is the best stuff, spray it on, wait till it goes purple then wash it off, the purple shows you how much tar is actually on the paintwork....

Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
Incorrect there Laura. Iron x is actually a iron fallout remover. The orange dots. And is actually made by car pro. You mean iron out. If it's black dots it's more than likely tar

Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
All I no is I had the orange dots on my boot when I picked my car up, used iron x/iron out and it removed them

Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
The OP issue is black dots. So more than likely tar. As whitedevil mentioned. Orange is iron. Black is tar

I use Autosmart Tardis. You can get it ebay for about £5 for 500ml.
Spray it on, the tar dissolves and just needs a wipe followed by a rinse off.

Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
I would be very cautious buying autosmart products from eBay. Especially ones that's been decanted from larger tubs. Autosmart themselves have said over on detailing world don't buy from eBay because it's not allways the product it's being sold as. Sometimes waterd down by people. Even some members have had problems with stuff like that from eBay. Not worth it in my opinion .neilltc wrote:I use Autosmart Tardis. You can get it ebay for about £5 for 500ml.

I use auto finesse oblitarate and find it very effective. Not as Good value for money compared to autosmart tardis.J1mmy91 wrote:i get this all the time! use a tar remover, the best ones i have come across are Auto finesse ObliTARate, or Autosmart Tardis they both work well.
But I would never use 5 litres of tardis so not worth buying. And I wouldn't be buying it in 500ml format from eBay either.

All I've been using is oblitarate lately, how do you apply it ? Spray on or soak a cloth and rub off?whiteDevil_170 wrote:I use auto finesse oblitarate and find it very effective. Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
Depends how much tar is on the car. If it's a alot then I spray on leave for a min then wipe it off with a clean cloth. If there isn't a lot and it's just a few bits of tar then I soak a cotton pad and just hold it on the tar for a few seconds Then wipe.J1mmy91 wrote:All I've been using is oblitarate lately, how do you apply it ? I never even thought about the ebay stuff being watered down/not the genuine product! Can you buy Autosmart in smaller quantities direct or is it just trade sized stuff?

Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
Its something thats been mentiond a few times on detailing world. And autosmart themself said dont buy the stuff from ebay for that reason. Stuff like tardis and g101 etc only come in 5 litre containers or more. That's the smallest they sell them in. That's why I have never bought autosmart because I would never need 5 litres.neilltc wrote:I never even thought about the ebay stuff being watered down/not the genuine product! Clay bar your car, gets rid of most things on mine but it is recommended that you apply a new coat of wax afterwards.

Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
Yes it will. But it's recommended you go round with a tar remover and Iron fallout remover 1st before you clay. That's way there's less chance of the clay picking something up and marring the paint.sciroccorich wrote:Clay bar your car, gets rid of most things on mine but it is recommended that you apply a new coat of wax afterwards.

Re: Black dots on white scirocco?
I would go with a clay bar my self. But I would first tar and glue the car, wash, then clay. I say this because if you use tar and glue then the clay without removing the tar and glue your clay bar will pritty much fall to pieces.

Don't feel like your steeping on anyone's toes mate. It's an open forum. Say what you want. The more advice the better.kanedingle wrote:Pritty much what whitedevil said lol

I'm by no means a detailing expert but I have been on detailing world forum a while and have taken in a bit of knowledge. so I just say what I think Is right based on what I have seen and read.
