New wipers are on 3 weeks and although they stopped smearing the rattle is back and bad as ever. Unbelievable on 25k car...

Re: Driver's Side Windscreen Wiper Smear
Ok guys.
Took the car back to dealer today for wiper smear fix. Much aggro bewteen sales and service as to who is paying for a new wiper (Can you believe this on a £23kcar!!!).
To cut a story short, service 'nick' a new blade from a just delivered 'roc (some poor sod gets my old blade) and the problem seems to be fixed. They also upped the wiper arm tension, so now it wipes the whole of the swept area.
I am in two minds; selfishly I am pleased my problem is fixed but the other part of me feels sorry for some poor sod (I suspect the viper green car in the lot) who has a new car with my old (6k miles) smeary blade. All this seems pretty cheap on a car of this price and not a great reflection on the dealer. If this sort of stuff carries on, feel I will be forced to neame them - but hey, for Sherlock Holmes out there, I live near Worthing!!!
My advice to thsoe with a smear - kick ass and get a new blade!!!

Re: Driver's Side Windscreen Wiper Smear
I still have the smear even after I got the blades replaced, any suggestions? Shall I get the garage to adjust the tension? They will have the car on Tuesday while they replace the glove box* in mine.jonosussex wrote:My advice to thsoe with a smear - kick ass and get a new blade!!!
*While they fixed the scuff on the front wing, I showed them the glove box, it use to open slowly, now the thing just flings open with a huge thud at the end, so they will replace it under warranty.

I would advise increas the blade arm tension - they wound mine up to full tension as well as replacing the blade. You can tell if the tension is low as mone DIDN'T sweep the very bottom left hand part of the sweep - there was always an area which was unswept at the bottom of the screen bewteen the two baldes - now it clears that!
Good luck.
Good luck.

I've driven my roc around 500km now, still no smear. The one I mentioned at the dealer had around 2500km on him, with smear.

I had a smear on the drivers side that the dealers (Trust in Stourbridge) sorted immediately by replacing the wiper arm. No questions, no excuses. Just wanting to resolve it. They are sorting an issue with my Sat Nav radio reception next week too.
