Just change my OEM DRL bulbs for LED's. Can't wait until night time to inspect how good they look against my XTec H7 Super White Xenon HID Class Bulbs I also hope they last a long time.

I've done the same, about a month ago. All good at the moment.C00PS wrote:Just change my OEM DRL bulbs for LED's. Can't wait until night time to inspect how good they look against my XTec H7 Super White Xenon HID Class Bulbs I also hope they last a long time.
Shame the same can't be said for my license plate. All from the same place tooC00PS wrote:Had to take out my license plate LED's and put my OEM ones back in due to them flickering. When i inspected them, a couple of the LED's were not working on both. They lasted only a couple of months.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Ok so today I decided to clean my wheels - and for once I remembered to take pics !
So starting with the OSR I removed the wheel after placing an axle stand and gave the arch and strut a good going over with G101 and a stiffish wheel brush Then while that was drying I cleaned the rim back propping the wheel against a block of wood to prevent damage
Starting with G101 to get rid of the majority of the gunk then using AF iron out and a great little brush I picked up at Asda for around £2
Then a coat of PoorBoys wheel sealant or two to finish the wheel and some CG gel for the tyre before reassembling
Returning to the arch I put a thin coat of anti corrosion grease on the struts and the disc surround and a spray of silicone demon shine on the struts and surrounds finishing off with a quick wipe over of the hoses with a coat of CG gel and a brush of the discs with some wire wool in case of over enthusiastic sprayage
Replacing the wheel with the VW centre with the W above the valve ( of course WD ) a quick scrub of the wheel nuts with autosol and wire wool and torquing to 120NM, then repeating three more times
The fronts were a little different with the plastic trim inside the arch requiring a decent scrub first and a coat of CG gel but the gist was the same
A quick round of repairs with some clear Halfrauds lacquer to finish off.
Oh and had a go at the exhaust tips while it was up on stands with autosol & wire wool for good measure
Finished off around 1500 as I had the grass to cut but was pretty happy with the result
Until I realised I hadn't put on the gummipflegde round the window sills and by then it was dark Grrrrrrr

Looking very good mate. Your officially more obsessive than me. I havent done that. I cleaned and waxed the fronts and spokes of my alloys today with auto finesse mint rims. Also washed it .
Where did you place the axle stands? Did you do one wheel at a time. And what stands have you got.

Heh - very much one wheel at a time starting back then doing the fronts
The axle stands are the 3 tonne ones from Halfrauds - got a bit of a bargain with those as I ordered the cheaper ones but they were out of stock so gave me the more expensive ones for the cheaper price
Also chocked the wheels with HF's folding yellow jobs for completeness sake of course

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Repaired an alloy wheel that I managed to scrape against a large stone hidden in the kerbside grass . Had to file the high points that I gouged out and use a very small amount of filler to get the profile back. Got an almost perfect colour match with the spray paint that I had to blend in with the rest of the wheel so pretty pleased as the repair does not show at all . Took most of the day though.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Just got out of my car having parked up at work this morning - i heard a giant 'SPLAT' and turned around to see this
i looked up and all this crap came out of ONE bird ! - i'm no ornithologist but it looked like a giant seagull
The worst bit was , i had to go into work all day , knowing that my pride & joy was stuck outside covered from front to back in seagull poo

Did it go down after having that poo? Cause it seems like everything, including organs, came out of the thing.uklee wrote:Just got out of my car having parked up at work this morning - i heard a giant 'SPLAT' and turned around to see this
