Rattling noise when clutch depressed

Post by Casey06 »

Alright guys!

I have a really annoying rattling/knocking sound when the clutch is depressed, and when I'm sitting at 1.5k rpm in first gear. I've already checked the oil levels I just have no idea how to resolve it as I've literally put every penny I have into a deposit for the car. Otherwise I'm really happy with it but have a couple of things I need to do e.g, stone chips to the bonnet which I'm hoping will t-cut out!

It's a 2.0 TDI 12 plate if this helps you answer my question. Thanks alot :shake:

If it's a 12 plate then it will still be in warranty if it's a UK car and the mileage is less than 60k.

Best to get it checked out as it could be the DMF.

Thanks for the advice! And how sure are you it will fall under the warranty? As I know what car company's are like with getting out of doing it for free and I pretty much wiped myself out getting this car so I don't have a lot of money to spare at the moment!

I must admit I've never had any issues with the VW warranty anytime I've had an issue. Obviously without knowing the exact issue I can't say it will definitely be covered however if it is the DMF or clutch release bearing it will be.
